Hi there! I’m Nina Kim.

I’m currently a senior at the University of Michigan, and I’ll graduate in May 2019 with a B.A. in Film, Television, and Media Studies and a sub-major in Screenwriting.

I’m a writer based in Ann Arbor (at the moment), and I write stories that I feel the world needs.

When I was 8 years old, I made two promises to myself:

  1. I promise I will never give up on my dreams of working in Hollywood.
  2. I promise I will never forget what it’s like to be a kid.

I was clearly never punched in the face as a kid… BUT I owe my younger self everything !! Thank you ‘lil Nina!

I was THE most talkative, creative troublemaker. I LOVED watching adventure movies and then going on imaginary adventures of my own (I basically just wreaked havoc in my neighborhood. I was such a bad kid omg. Ask me for stories. I got plenty). I dreamt of being a hot-shot movie director after seeing High School Musical (true story), and from then on, I never! stopped! dreaming!

In addition to praying everyday to be the next cool Disney Channel director, I LITERALLY sang Cinderella’s “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” every night before bed, because I LITERALLY thought my actual beating heart could WISH for my dream to work in TV and film to come true. Again, never been punched in the face… but I’m so grateful for those blissful years of just straight up ignoring reality. Children see life at its purest form, and I believe it’s my childlike wonder that pushed me to keep ! going !

It’s so wild to see those “impossible” dreams slowly become a reality, and I will keep working to make my 8-year-old self proud !!

My current obsessions are: Jordan Peele’s Us, Bim Adewunmi and her Twitter account
